BASKETBALL - a serious workout!

Last night I played in my first basketball game, it was so cool.  Growing up I played any and all sports, except for basketball.  I thought because i'm a "chorty" thats what Scott calls me, yes I know 5'4 is short, that meant I couldn't play basketball so I never even tried.  Sure I know how to shoot and I can play horse, but the rules of the game and how to play with other players I've never done it.  Since Scott is over Sports for the Stake (the churches in our area) he has recruited me to help and of course participate.  So there I was jumping into a game I have never played before with women who have obiviously played before, some of them were pregnant and others recently had a baby but you wouldn't have known they played with such vigor.  At first I was scared, there were people running at me, arms flailing around me and I wasn't about to go for the ball and risk getting smacked.  After a couple of minutes of running up and down the court I could hardly catch my breathe this is no joke it is a real workout.  I would tease Scott when he would get home from playing and he was sore or he was tired, a guffaw from me "ah! basketball isn't hard to play it's not even a real workout".... boy am I taking that back.  I guess the professionals make it look easy so I just assumed it was an easy game to play.  After getting caught double dribbling and standing in the key a few seconds too long I quickly learned this is not the same as standing and shooting at a basket all by yourself.  This is a full contact, intense cardio workout, with some tricky rules.  In the end I played hard and made some mistakes but I learned quickly too.  Scott was reffing and he was a good coach trying to help me out along the way, he was excited to see I could hold my own out there.  He said I would make a good point gaurd so we are going to work on that.
